Noah the Amazing Human Jumping Bean.

Dear Noah,

Remember how I said that you love to jump? Well I wasn't kidding.

May I present to you, the amazing human jumping bean!
Taken 01/2012

I took this with my iPhone and had it so that you could actually watch yourself as I recorded you, so that's why you're acting so silly:). And as for the snakes you're pointing to, there is a huge poster of a map of the world on the wall with all the different animals native to each area. You love to find all the snakes. I love you!

Fun at the mall.

Dear Noah,

One of your most often requests is that you want to "go play with kids". Since our house is so small right now, you really do not have enough room to run around and play like you should. We go outside when we can, but the weather is more often rainy, cold, or 100+ degrees outside, not to mention there is a  ravenous mosquito population around here that will swarm us the minute we step outside. Also, right now we only have one car, so the only time we can go places is on the weekend when your daddy is home.

Yesterday I went grocery shopping, so today we really didn't have much planned to do, and (since it was cold outside) and so we decided to take you and Grace to run around the play area at the mall. We told you that we were going to go play with kids, and you couldn't have been more excited (you ran straight to the door pointing and saying, "Go?! Play with the kids?!"). We dressed you in your skinny jeans your Aunt Aubrey and Uncle Sean gave you for Christmas, a t-shirt, and your favorite hat that your Aunt Ashley made you for Christmas. You looked super cute:).
You looking up at the big airplane hanging from the ceiling.

When we arrived, we went straight to the play area, took your shoes and socks off, and watched you take off. You were a little timid at first which is usually the case when you're around kids you don't know, but you soon got used to everything and were running around with a group of kids your age, climbing through tunnels, sliding down slides and running and jumping all over the place in no time. You were fascinated with the big colorful airplane that was hanging over head from the ceiling. I caught you and another little boy standing side by side both looking up and pointing at it:). The entire play area had a very soft and kind of bouncy floor, plus all of the play equipment felt like it was made of some squishy foam rubber, so you had a great time jumping and I had a great time not having to worry about you hurting yourself.

You played for probably an hour before your sister got hungry and cranky, so we had to pull you away from watching the kids jumping on big trampolines attached to giant bungee harnesses next to the play area, and grabbed some food at the food court. You, your dad, and I had pizza (something we don't normally eat, so it was a real treat for you) and you ate all of yours "like a lion" LOL! Grace had some meatballs, and both of you danced in your chairs to the very loud music they had playing. Watching you two dance is one of my very favorite things ever!

Here is a great example of your awesome dance moves.

After lunch we took you by The American Cookie Company and got you a chocolate chip M&M cookie. We brought you around the corner from the food court and pointed to the cookies behind the glass case. When you saw them, your eyes got really wide and with an excited grin on your face you pointed and said in your deep caveman voice, "Coooooooookieeeeeeeee!" We headed back to the car, letting you walk beside us and wander a little. By the time we got to the car your hands and face were COVERED in chocolate and cookie crumbs. We buckled you into your car seat when you a HUGE laugh for no reason which I am sure was the result of a cookie high. When we arrived home, you and Grace took nice long naps since you were worn out from playing and right now you have finished dinner and are jumping on the couch showing Daddy how high you can get and how you can do "plips" (flips). Have I mentioned that you like to jump? Well you do, but that's another story for another day.

I had so much fun with you today, watching you play is one of the biggest joys of my life!

My Shaggy-haired Running Man.

Dear Noah,

So, your hair is getting pretty shaggy. It's over your ears and your bangs are past your eyes. You look adorably scruffy, I really do love it, but I'm not so sure how you feel about it. I actually don't think you care whether your hair is long or short. You have no concept of what looks cool, I'm pretty sure you'd think you look awesome if I shaved a stripe down the middle of your head:). I just wish I knew if your bangs were bothering you or not since they're always in your eyes. Your dad and I were just talking about getting some hair clips for you. I was actually contemplating making you some "boy-rettes", (hair clips with strips of leather, a Lego, or some sort of hardware on it to make it look masculine) your dad thinks I'm crazy:). Your dad really REALLY wants your hair to grow out long, and I really don't want your bangs to be in your eyes all the time. Since cutting your hair behind your dad's back is really not the best idea, I think we're going to go with the hair clips, and maybe some boy-rettes, just because I think they would be fun to make:).

My shaggy haired little man.
You were helping me make peppermint patties while eating a handful of M&Ms.

I had fun with you today. We went outside in the cul-de-sac and literally ran around for a while. Your dad and I had the best time watching you run. You would run, then take a little hop out of nowhere, and we would say to each other, making sure we were loud enough for you to hear, "Wow! Look at that kid over there, he's SO fast, and he can jump SO high!!!" to which you would respond with more running and hopping with a very "I'm so awesome" look on your face:). Hahaha! We had the best time.

You ARE so awesome.

Mama

Dear Noah

Dear Noah,

I'm writing these "letters" to you so that when you grow up, you can look back and see how much your dad and I love you (we love you sooooooooo much!) and so I can record important milestones, and not so important daily things you do that make me smile.

For anyone else reading, these are letters to my son, that's it. I'm not going to try to be entertaining, so if you get bored with my daily entries, sorry, but these really aren't for you anyway;).

Okay, right now you are two years, 5 months, and 10 days old, you are VERY much a two year old and all the good and the bad that comes with that. You LOVE baseball, my iPhone (especially the Fisher Price animal app that I have on it), buldozers, cars, and your sister Grace. Your favorite foods right now are bananas (those have been your favorite every since you were a little baby), peanut butter (especially peanut butter crackers), beans, and of course, candy or sweets of any kind.

The first thing you ask for in the morning is your "balahs" (vitamines), and I am constantly having to corral you away from your sister's food, even though she eats pretty much exactly what you do, of course, her plate always looks more yummy to you:).

You love playing tackle football with your dad on our bed after dinner. You absoltely cannot wait for your daddy to get home from work each day, and he thinks you are pretty awesome too.

I love watching you with your sister, you love her so much. Yesterday when I woke up I could hear you in your crib jumping up and down yelling, "Dee Dee! Hi! Hi Dee Dee!" (you call her Dee Dee), and the minute I get you two up and out of your cribs, you ask to play with her. You love giving her kisses and taking any and all toys from her (we're working on learning to share right now), and she loves you so much too, there are times she gives you bigger smiles and laughs than she does dad and me.

Well, that's it for now, you're sitting in Grace's high chair right now playing with my phone, your face covered in chocolate from a leftover chocolate covered marshmallow from Christmas:). I need to wash your face off and spend some time playing with you.

I love you so much little guy, I didn't know what living really was until I met you!

Love,
Mama
